In the process he falls in love with Mr.Brown's girlfriend Susan, and is accused of becoming overly obsessed with his crusade by his superior Police Captain Peterson. When Susan attempts to commit suicide to escape from Mr.Brown Diamond discovers the clue that will bring down his arch-rival forever.

His work as a director/writer won him an Oscar in 1950 and later an Academy award nomination for this movie in 1952. It tells the true story about Japanese-American soldiers who fought in Europe with distinction during WW2. ___________________ This movie is a fine tribute to the U.S. 442nd Regimental Combat Team, formed in 1943 by Presidential permission with Japanese-American volunteers. We follow their progress from basic platoon training through to active service in Italy and France where they fight with bravery, courage and distinction.

When they get older the resentment festers into a bitter hatred leading to a plot to murder his rival and at the same time take over his father's cattle empire.
